If a delay code on a flight leg is incorrect — for example, the wrong code was assigned, or a delay needs to be split between multiple codes — here's how to handle it.
Delay codes in Cosmos are imported from your operational data source (e.g. your movement message system). Cosmos displays the codes as received. If a code is wrong at the source, it will also appear incorrectly in Cosmos.
To correct a delay code:
Fix it at the source. Submit a correction message (e.g. a correction MVT) through your standard operational process. Once the corrected data is received, Cosmos will update accordingly.
Allow time for sync. After a correction is submitted at the source, it may take some time for the updated data to appear in Cosmos.
Check the result. Verify in Cosmos that the corrected delay code now shows on the relevant flight leg.
If you've submitted a correction at the source but Cosmos still shows the old code, the issue may be related to data synchronization. Contact Cosmos support with the flight number, date, and the expected vs. displayed delay code so the team can investigate.
Keep in mind that correcting a delay code may also affect its SLA relevancy. If a code changes to or from an SLA-relevant code, this will be reflected in the SLA processing for that flight leg.
