Cosmos uses user roles to manage what each person can see and do. When someone is added to a workspace, they're given a role, and that role defines their access — the data they can view and the actions they can take.
Different roles come with different levels of access and capability. Some roles are read-only, some can collaborate (for example, adding comments or proposing actions), and others can make decisions, manage settings, or manage other users. A user's role determines which of these are available.
Cosmos is used by many organizations, so the exact set of roles isn't the same everywhere:
Different workspaces use different roles. An organization may use only some of the roles Cosmos offers, or give them different names.
Access depends on the scope and the features a workspace uses. What a role can do also depends on which Cosmos features are enabled in the workspace, and which of them a user is a member of. Two people with the same role can also see different data if they work at different stations and/or airlines.
As a result, two users with the same role may have different access — even within the same organization. Learn more: Why do users with the same role can see different data on their dashboard?
If you think you need more access (or less) or you're unsure why you can or can't see something, contact an Admin of your workspace. Admins manage roles and access, and can adjust yours or explain how the workspace of the organization you are a member of is set up.
